We have two lighting specials running right now!

First, through the end of 2012, we’re offering $100 off our basic uplighting package for indoor venues with ample power outlets. This means just about any ballroom reception will qualify for an immediate $100 off!

And second, for events that take place between March 18, 2012 and August 31, 2012, we’re offering $100 off any dance floor package if purchased with a basic uplighting package. That means for a ballroom wedding, you can get the uplighting for $700 instead of $800, AND the dance floor lighting for $200 instead of $300!

We also offer a $100 discount for active military members (must be the bride or groom), which may be used in conjunction with our other deals!

Uplighting doesn’t have to be limited to indoor venues – trees can take on a wondrous fantasy glow with the right lighting. This photo was taken in 2011 at a local art festival, where we turned a tent housing a hookah lounge into a gorgeous nighttime spectacle.

Granted, brides may not want to go for *this* much color, but the intensity of color is totally up to you! Whether you want something intense or more subtle, uplighting can completely change the feel of an outdoor venue by bringing the trees to life, even at night.

Planning a tent wedding? A bride with a beautiful ranch home set up several tents on her property for dining and dancing in this 2011 wedding. She hung some chandaliers she liked, and we filled in the lighting gaps with some simple cafe lighting. Then we strung cafe lights with hanging lanterns down teh length of the walkway tent, and brought in our theatrical dance floor lighting for the dancing tent, where guests danced the night away.

Tents don’t have to be plain – just ask us about making yours beautiful!

Having an outdoor wedding reception? This 2011 wedding at Laguna Gloria was one of our favorites. We were brought in to do only string lighting and lanterns – no uplighting for this one – and the result was a lovely natural glow.

(Of course, the landscaping lighting already in place at Laguna Gloria made a big difference — if those hadn’t been there, we’d have definitely suggested some amber lighting for the trees. With a reception place as lovely as this, it would be a crime to not be able to see it all!)

Our paper lanterns are an excellent and affordable addition to string lighting, and can be done in any color (or colors). Our price for string lighting and lanterns varies from $250 to $700 or more, depending on a) how much lighting you need, b) whether we already have your color lanterns in stock, c) whether you’re also purchasing uplighting or other lighting packages, and d) how high the areas are where you’d like them hung.

Uplighting can turn any indoor reception area into something special – from elegant ballrooms to convention halls. In 2011, we had the pleasure of uplighting the wedding reception for a Baylor grad and an Aggie, held at… Texas University in San Marcos. Hmm? I know, we were wondering about that too. Regardless, the bride was gorgeous and the reception was a blast – and we loved turning a large, grey open room into a rich and colorful occasion. Check out this gorgeous shade:

When we came into the room, the multicolored lanterns were already in place, and she’d chosen a variety of vivid colors for the tablecloths and flowers. From this, we took our inspiration, choosing a rich (and warm) pink for the walls, with blue accenting the band area and entryways. A unique wall design over the gift table at the back of the room received a red treatment, making it stand out from the rest of the room.

The bride told us later that her family had expressed some doubts when she’d decided to add lighting, but when they entered the room, they’d told her those doubts were gone, because the effect was simply stunning!

Finding new ways to get the word out is always a good thing, and we’re happy to say we’ve just added our listing to Thumbtack.com under concert and wedding lighting in Austin, Texas. No data yet on how well the marketing aspect will work, but so far the site has been easy to use. If anyone has any other ideas on sites they use to find local service professionals, we’d love to hear those as well!

If you missed the fashion show at the Belmont, it was a beautiful evening, complete with complimentary champagne and cupcakes, beautiful table settings by Petalworks, and elegant bridal fashion (from the outerwear to the underwear… oh my) from several local boutiques.
